Perspector Newsletter, May 2008

 

In this month's newsletter we are pleased to announce the release of a new update: Perspector 4.1.

This is available now as a free upgrade for all those who have paid for a Perspector 4.0 license. The upgrade includes a number of updates and fixes. See the full list of changes.

To upgrade from earlier versions of Perspector simply download and install over your old version. Download Perspector 4.1.

The regular newsletter, and the Image Watch column, will be back next month.

Perspector 4.1: Save as Picture...

 

New in Perspector 4.1 is the Save as Picture command:
 

With this new command you can save Perspector images directly to picture files. Images can be saved as PNG, BMP, JPEG, GIF and TIFF files.

 

 

Perspector 4.1: Format copy and paste

 

You may be familiar with the Format Painter control in Perspector. There's now a new way to copy shape properties such as fill color from one shape to another. Two new shortcut keys have been added:

Ctrl + Shift + C copies the format of the currently selected shape to a "format clipboard".

Ctrl + Shift + V pastes the format from the "format clipboard" to the selected shapes.

This can be a more convenient method than Format Painter to copy the shape format from one shape to many other shapes.

 

 

Perspector 4.1: Color picker

In Perspector 4.1, the color selection tool has been upgraded to an Office-style version:
 

With this version you have easier access to distinct color variations on the new Standard tab. Greater control of the color variation is still provided via the Custom tab.
